This cilantro is super creamy and easy to make. You'll keep coming back to make this great recipe.
You can never have too many salsa recipes and this one is sure to stay with you. This recipe is super creamy, fresh, and has a little kick to it. It’s also super easy and quick.
What’s in avocado salsa?
Avocado salsa gets its green color and creamy texture from it’s main star… avocados! In contrast to many other salsas, this recipe won’t contain any chili or garlic flavors.
For this salsa, we’ll use some vinegar, and cilantro for brightness, yellow onion and salt to round out the flavor, and to add some creaminess and lightness we’ll add in some cashew cream.
For spice, you can regulate how much kick you want. We use 1 jalapeño and this provides enough spice to elevate the flavor, but there is definitely room to add more if you like a lot of spice.
How to make avocado salsa?
Making avocado salsa is very simple. All that is needed is a blender. In this case we are using the Vitamix E310, which is arguably overkill for this task, but produces a very consistent result and texture. A weaker blender should do just fine. Once you have your ingredients chopped, diced, and measured out, add them to a blender and blend until you reach your desired consistency. I like a little more texture in this recipe for use as a dip, but if you’re using this for sandwiches or tacos, you may want to blend until smooth.
Variations on avocado salsa?
You can alter this recipe for different uses of the salsa. Add a couple of tomatillos to reach a result closer to normal salsa, giving the salsa a loser texture and tomatillo flavor. This can be great for tacos and or sandwiches.
How can I store avocado salsa?
Since this recipe is using fresh ingredients with no preservatives, including avocados which are infamous for being hard to store after you prepare them, you want to use an airtight container and store up to 5 days in the fridge.
Slice and cube the avocado, De-stem and cut the jalapeño in half, dice onion, and chop cilantro.
If making cashew cream, put 1/3 cup of both cashews and water in blender. Blend on high until cashew cream is smooth.
Place all ingredients in blender and mix with spatula.
blender on a medium speed until desired consistency is reached.
